The club has been holding an annual fundraising tournament in memory of Glenn McHale for the past 11 years, with all the proceeds going to Saint Catherine’s.

Alan Waites, honorary secretary, said: “Glenn passed away aged 42 and was a very well respected and active member of the club. This is our way of giving something back for the care he received.”

The £550 donation is from last year’s tournament which was well supported and featured entertainment on the night along with a day of golfing. The event featured an array of fantastic prizes such as bikes, barbecues and gazebos.

Simon Brass, East Yorkshire area fundraiser for Saint Catherine’s, said: “The money raised will go towards caring for our patients, both in the hospice and at home. It is very much appreciated.”
