Family looking to solve mystery surrounding 1930s paintings by Bridlington artist
A family is trying to solve a mystery surrounding a number of paintings and drawings thought to have been created by a Bridlington-based artist in the 1930s.
Susan Jorgenson and her mum decided to sort out various items after her dad passed away from Covid-19.
They are now hoping to find out more about the artworks and think that some of the drawings were done by an artist in this area.
Susan said: “My mum, who is 78, has been collecting antiques for many years.
“She has decided to go through all her things and we have come across a lot of portraits dating back to 1935.
“We think the artist is from Bridlington and we are hoping someone can give us more information regarding the paintings.
“We have checked them out and it says ‘Oyster Gatherers/Washington by Sargent’.
“If someone can help that would be fantastic.”
Email [email protected] if you can shed any light on the paintings.
