Buy a brick and build up Spotlight Theatre’s campaign as it looks to expand
There’s still chance to support a popular arts venue in Bridlington, brick by brick, and be in with the chance of winning a special prize when it reopens as the lockdown is lifted.
Spotlight Theatre is hoping to raise £12,000 through it’s ‘Buy-a-Brick’ campaign so it can build for the future.
The popular theatre has the chance to purchase part of the garage premises next door to its West Street base.
This extra space would allow members to relocate the workshop and create much-needed storage space.
The Buy-a-Brick campaign was launched to help pay for the plan as the theatre looks to the future.
Members are hoping that 1,200 bricks will be sold at £10 each to help cover the cost, and theatre fans and residents have already helped to raise more than £6,000, taking the total past the half-way point.
For every brick purchased, the buyer’s name will be entered into a draw where three lucky winners will be special guests to a show of their choice, enjoy a tour of the theatre and meet the cast of the show, and get a free drink and ice cream.
The theatre has lost thousands of pounds in revenue since the first lockdown due to cancelled shows.
A spokesman said: “With your help we have raised £6,000 towards the target of £12,000.
“A fair way to go yet, but with your support we will get there. Thank you from us all at Spotlight Theatre.”
