Children will be able to visit Father Christmas in his grotto, and there will be a lantern walk starting at 4pm on High Street, making its way to Priory Church of St Mary for a carol service at 4.30pm.

Many of the Old Town’s shopkeepers, stall holders and residents will be in Victorian dress and they are inviting visitors to join them in their own Dickensian outfits.

A dress made of map pages and lit with tiny lights can be seen on display in the Alex May gallery window on the High Street to highlight the festival and lantern parade.
