Bridlington Lions Club members have played their part in a world-wide project to plant millions of trees.

A group of Lions joined forces on land north of the Coastguard station off Limekiln Lane to plant almost 300 saplings.

A Bridlington Lions spokesman said: “We had to plant 10 saplings per club member and in over the course of the operation we managed to out in 280.

“The 10 species included English Oak to Hornbeam and Douglas Fir to Sycamore.

“All have been labelled, so they are easy to identify by any interested party.

“This is another example of Lions serving their community and the planet.”
