Bridlington Cricket Club members set to celebrate 200th anniversary

Bridlington Cricket Club members will be celebrating 200 years’ of history with a number of events this year.

The club will be playing a match against a MCC side on Sunday, May 31 to celebrate this landmark anniversary.

A spokesman for the club said: “This is a huge honour for Bridlington. To see a team such as the MCC coming to town is fantastic.”

Past chairman Lance Cook is currently writing a book about the club called ‘History of Bridlington Cricket Club, 1820 to 2020’.

This is expected to be published mid April to early May by Lodge Books of Bridlington.

Winter training for seniors and juniors is currently underway at Bridlington School Sports Hall on Monday evenings between 6pm to 8pm.
