Over the weekend the team met to conduct cliff rescue training, the last training exercise for Coastguard Rescue Officer Kevin Huston.

Kevin joined the team in 2007 and has attended hundreds of search and rescue incidents in that time, he has seen the Coastguard Rescue Service modernised and improved over the years into the organisation it is now.

Kevin said: “It’s been an amazing 13 years volunteering with HM Coastguard, I have met and worked alongside some interesting characters and I am going to miss it, but you know what they say, all good things must come to an end.

"I have been part of a team of ordinary people doing extraordinary things, leaving family and friends to attend incidents and make a difference to people’s lives.

"I’ve decided it’s now time to give somebody else the amazing opportunity to be part of this team.”
