Cricket fan and writer Mike Ulyatt.

Mike Ulyatt, along with sports journalist David Bond, is currently researching material for a proposed book on the history of cricket in Hull and East Yorkshire.

The duo would welcome any information on the history or anecdotal stories of the Bridlington and District Evening Cricket League.

They are hoping to fill gaps in their knowledge and would like to find out interesting or amusing stories from the league, along with any other information that readers would enjoy.

Mr Ulyatt said: “We are covering club, league and cup histories, individuals who have gone on to play county cricket, clubs and grounds no longer in existence, and characters of the game.

“We do not want the book to be just a dry history publication and we have concentrated on amusing/ interesting anecdotal material.

“We have a big gap with little info on the Bridlington and District Cricket League and Cup competition so any help would be appreciated.”
