North Yorkshire motorcyclist dies after collision with roadsweeping vehicle on the A165

A North Yorkshire motorcyclist has died after a crash with a roadsweeper near Bridlington.

The 55-year-old was on the A165 at Carnaby when his bike hit the stationary roadsweeper at 5.33am today.

The road was shut while police investigated the accident.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: "The man’s family have been informed and are being supported by officers from our Serious Collisions Unit."

Officers investigating the incident are keen to speak to the occupants of a silver Vauxhall Meriva which was in the area at the time of the collision, who could be key witnesses.

They would also like to speak to anyone who has dashcam footage that might help with their investigation
