The firm has recruited tax and wealth management expert Edward Allen from Manchester law firm Kuits where he worked in Tax and Probate department.

David Roberts, head of the firm’s family law department, will now to divide his time between the firm’s Hull office on Parliament Street and its Beverley office, bringing 25 years of experience to the Morton Lane practice.

He is joined by Lana Fairfield, who also moves from Sandersons’ Hull office to Beverley and specialises in tax issues and wealth management.

Resident family law specialist Simon Griffiths said he was pleased to resume his close working relationship with David as the two men had nearly 50 years of experience in family law between them.

He added Mr Allen and Miss Fairfield brought with them a wealth of knowledge about tax issues and financial planning which would benefit individuals and families alike.

Mr Griffiths said: “I am very pleased to be able to resume my close working relationship with David. Between us we have 46 years’ of post-qualification family law experience and together I believe form one of the strongest and most experienced teams in East Yorkshire.

“Add to this Edward’s and Lana’s extensive experience, which is a very valuable asset to our tax and wealth management knowledge, and our new-look family team shapes up to be both bigger than it has been before and able to offer a more extensive range of services to families in the region.”

In their new roles, Mr Allen and Miss Fairfield will deal with probates, wills, including all aspects of tax and estate planning and trusts, as well as advising on mental capacity issues such as lasting powers of attorney and court of protection applications.

Sandersons Solicitors also offers a full range of family law services from its Beverley office including divorce and financial separation, pre-nuptial agreements, disputes involving children such as residential and contact issues and advice on grandparents’ rights, care proceedings and domestic violence.

David Roberts, head of the family law department, said he was delighted with the new-look team in Beverley

“Edward’s appointment and Lana’s transfer, along with my presence part of the week and the office’s existing staff, means our family team in Beverley offers a vast range of knowledge and experience across all aspects of family law,” he said.

Mr Allen said he was very excited to be joining the firm.

He said: “Sandersons sees tax and wealth management advice as a real growth area, particularly in Beverley and surrounding areas, and I am looking forward to delivering first class advice to clients on a range of issues.”
