New appeal asks residents to see dentist

A Bridlington dental practice is calling for more residents to register as an NHS patient after recent figures revealed 27 per cent of the UK population only visit their dentist when they’re in pain.

Keen to promote the benefits of prevention rather than cure, mydentist is encouraging more people in Bridlington to register as an NHS patient.

Denise Milestone, practice manager at mydentist inBridlington, said: “Research proves that common problems such as tooth decay could be prevented in 60 per cent of people if they made regular visits to their dental practice and maintained good dental hygiene.

“Because of this it’s vital that people register with a dentist that can offer them access when they need it and first class care that prevents problems.

“We’re opening our doors to new patients of all ages and we strongly encourage anyone who isn’t registered with a dentist to do it today. No one wants to be in pain but without regular dental care and attention it could become a real issue.”

The practice in Quay Street offers a range of treatments including teeth whitening and dentures and is open six days a week , though emergency appointments can be made.

Denise added: “I think in Bridlington there is a general lack of awareness that three are plenty of NHS places available for appointments with a dentist.”
