Bridlington MP Sir Greg Knight was in attendance at Bridlington Job Centre for an open day to match employers with potential employees.
Businesses in Bridlington set up stalls at the centre so they could talk to residents searching for a job and see if the person suited a role they had to offer.
The centre were also offering a number of digital services including cv help to ensure job seekers are displaying their skills in the best way.
Greg Knight MP said: “I think Bridlington, like the rest of the country, is feeling the effects of economic growth.
“There are, however a number of vacancies available to people seeking jobs or those wanting to change jobs in Bridlington and this event was fantastic in showcasing this. I was very impressed with the event and three cheers for the organisers who managed it superbly.
“The event has arrived at the right time also with the summer season around the corner and this gives people the chance to secure a job ahead of the busy times that lie ahead for the town.”
The event coincided with Red Nose Day with refreshments on offer for visitors with proceeds going to Comic Relief.
