Motorcyclist dies after car collision

A motorcyclist has died after being involved in a collision with a car near Kilham.

The motorcyclist, a 50-year-old East Yorkshire man, was riding a white BMW S1000XR motorcycle when he collided with a grey Ford Fiesta on the B1249 junction with unclassified road to Kilham.

The collision happened at about 12.25pm on Sunday 10 April with the motorcyclist being taken by Air Ambulance to Hull Royal Infirmary, but sadly died.

The car driver, a 72-year-old man, and his passenger, a 75-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries and were taken to Scarborough Hospital.

Witnesses are sought in relation to the collision. Anyone with information is asked to contact 101 referring to log 251 of 10 April.
