A MONEY box has been stolen from a house on Gypsey Road, Bridlington.

Police are appealing for information about the burglary that happened sometime between September 5 and 7 when someone entered the property and stole a money box containing a large quantity of pound coins.

Nothing else was taken.

Detective Inspector Paul Kirby, Beverley CID said: “We are once again appealing for residents to remember to lock their windows and doors at all times in unoccupied rooms.

“These burglars are not mastermind criminals, but opportunist thieves, and unlocked doors and open windows are easy pickings.

“Please help us to prevent these types of offences by reporting any suspicious activity in your neighbourhood to the police, and always, always remember to lock your windows, doors and turn on burglar alarms.

“Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team are always on hand to offer you further crime prevention advice, and to help you review the security of your property. Local officers can be contacted on 0845 60 60 222.”

Anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area around the time of the burglary should contact Humberside Police on 0845 6060 222 quoting crime reference 1861076.
