Friends and family of the popular club steward at Bridlington Town football club will be raising money in her memory this weekend.
As the club’s first team round off their league season with an away match at Garforth Town, their Queensgate stadium will be hosting the first Heather Scott Memorial Day.
On the pitch, there will be a fancy dress football match between teams called Tutu United and Afro City, kicking off at 2pm on Saturday.
There will a beat the keeper game, face painting, tombolas and a bouncy castle, while children can have their photographs taken with some of their favourite characters. Top prize in the raffle will be a £200 holiday voucher donated by Hays Travel of Promenade in Bridlington.
Heather, who was landlady at the Parade and the Greyhound in Bridlington before moving to the football club, died just before Christmas after a battle with cancer.
Her family decided to organise an event to support the appeal for Eve Gascoigne, the Bridlington youngster who is in America for proton beam therapy.
