The Living Seas Centre at Flamborough and the ‘Land Lines: Modern British Nature Writing’ project are hosting a talk and reading by the acclaimed marine-themed nature writer Philip Hoare.
The event will take place on Friday 14 September between 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
Places for the talks are free but booking is essential as space is limited.
Mr Hoare is renowned for his life-long devotion to the sea and, especially, to its cetacean inhabitants.
He weaves his stories of encounters with these creatures together with reflections on culture and extraordinary people, in a unique blend of human and natural history.
His latest book ‘Risingtidefallingstar’ continues his exploration of oceans and shorelines around the world, and the ways in which we all carry the sea inside ourselves.
