A Bridlington pub recognised for the excellent quality of its beer has made it into a respected national book.
For the eighth year running, The Marine Bar on North Marine Road and has made it into the Campaign for Real Ale’s ‘Good Beer Guide.
Bar manager, Paul Bennett, said: “It’s great news!
“All the staff have worked hard to carry on what our ex manager did, and we have consistently carried out good woork.
The CAMRA Good Beer Guide 2015 is a list of 4,500 of the best real ale pubs in the UK, and information on every real ale brewery currently operating and their key beers.
Paul added: “To be in the guide the taste of the beer and its management, things like its storage, the presentation and, how clear the pint is, and the cleanliness of the cellar are all taken into account. “A lot of our customers come here because of our good reputation for cask ales – a couple from Knaresborough who were travelling around all the pubs in the Good Beer Guide came here just because we were in the guide!”
It is certainly a year to celebrate for the Marine bar after also coming seventh in this year’s Yorkshire’s Favourite Pub Competition.
Paul said: “We have now proudly places our trophies behind the bar – we are passionate about the good beer and service we provide at the Marine Bar.” The pub also held a coffee morning as part of Macmillan Cancer Support’s ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’, and raised £525 for the charity.
