Man knocked from bicycle in Bridlington

Police are seeking witnesses to a road traffic collision which left a cyclist in need of hospital treatment for his injuries.

The collision took place in Quay Road, near the junction with Springfield Avenue at 4pm on Friday 11 April.

A cyclist had been riding along Quay Road in the direction of the railway crossing and stopped at traffic lights on the junction of Springfield Avenue and Oliver’s Lane.

As he moved off from the lights and carried along Quay Road, a car attempting a manoeuvre to pass a parked vehicle alledgedly collided with the cyclist, causing him to fall.

He sustained injuries to the head, arm and shoulder which required hospital treatment.

The car did not stop following the collision and Humberside Police are keen to trace the driver.
