Major roadworks in Bridlington have been announced and will begin next month.
The major scheme on Marton Road is scheduled to begin on Monday 2 February as part of an eight-week program costing most than half-a-million pounds.
An East Riding of Yorkshire Council spokesperson said: “During the works, every effort will be made to provide access for residents of Marton Road and adjoining cul-de-sacs; however, some disruption will be unavoidable because of the nature of the works.
“We apologise in advance for any disruption caused, and will of course ensure that it is kept to a minimum. The works will, however, lead to significant improvements for all users of Marton Road.
“However it will be necessary to close sections of the road over five Sundays (15 and 22 February, and 1, 8, and 29 March) between the hours of 8am and 6pm, with through traffic diverted via Queensgate.”
Work will take place from Monday to Friday from 9.15am controlled by traffic signals, with a convoy vehicle in operation.
Bus routes will be operating during the week as usual; however, during the Sunday road closures, bus stops and routes will need to be temporarily relocated.
