The North Wolds Lions Club have presented an anti-coagulation machine (INR) to the medical centre in Bridlington.
This instrument tests the blood of patients on warfarin.
The readout on the new equipment is instant and medication can be dispensed immediately in the home making life easier.
One of the Lions has been receiving treatment from the medical centre involving the INR machine and it was this that got the Lions into action.
Past president Keith Harris said: “The practice only had one INR machine and it was overworked so we decided to donate another machine which the centre was delighted about.
“The machine is portable so it proves to be invaluable to patients who are housebound or who cannot get to the surgery quickly.”
