Letter: New service may miss off old stops

There are concerns that the new bus service will miss off regular stops leaving some vulnerable passengers unable to walk the extra 15 or 20 minutes to the next stop.

I live in Sewerby Road (Fortyfoot end). We have at the moment the 510 bus from Bridlington – Flamborough, via St Aiden’s and the 121 along Fortyfoot to Scarborough.

When the new bus service starts on 8 May; we will be losing both of these buses. There will be no buses at the Sewerby Road, Sewerby Heads end at all. We will have to walk to either the college, Jubilee Road, Limekiln Lane or the Crayke. These are all about a 15-20 minute walk for me (I am in my 60s and walk with a stick).

The more disabled/elderly who use the buses, won’t be able to get into town at all.

These bus routes are not fair as they have completely forgotten our end. I have phoned East Yorkshire Motor Services about this problem.
