Staff in the Infrastructure and Facilities building design department at East Yorkshire Council are celebrating after the East Riding Leisure Bridlington building won two accolades in the Yorkshire and Humber region Constructing Excellence Awards.
The first honour was the BIM (Building Information Modelling) Technical Project of the Year award.
The centre also won the ‘Best of the Best’ award, the major accolade of the entire awards event.
The project will now be judged in the national Constructing Excellence awards in London in November.
Councillor Stephen Parnaby OBE, leader of the council, said: “This is great news, and I am absolutely delighted that so much excellent work by so many people has been justly recognised in these awards.
“This is another well deserved accolade for this stunning new facility.”
