A group of knitters in Bridlington have been making items for babies in the poorest areas of Africa.

Staff and residents at Applegarth Court have joined a campaign by the Rotary Club of Hornsea, who are sending nitted jumpers and hats to 'the fish and chips babies'

They have been given the names because their mothers are often too poor to afford clothes and so the youngsters go home from hospital wrapped in newspaper to keep warm after they are born.
