Kasabian set for Spa return

Kasabian have confirmed they are to return to The Spa Bridlington to perform in front of an expected sell-out crowd.

The indie-rock band are set to play in Bridlington on Tuesday May 24, 2016 as a warm-up gig just days before playing in front of tens of thousands at Leicester’s King Power Stadium to mark the football club winning the Premier League.

Kasabian - who are Tom Meighan, Serge Pizzorno, Tim Carter, Chris Edwards and Ian Matthews - last performed in the town in June 2013 in front of a 3,800 sell-out crowd.

General manager of The Spa Bridlington, Andrew Aldis said: “We are to believe that it was Kasabian’s choice to come back to Bridlington for a warm-up gig.

“I think that is testament to the venue and service we provide at The Spa.”

Kasabian, who formed in Leicester in 1997, have had five studio albums released including Velociraptor in 2011 and 48:13 in 2013.

Kasabian announced they are to return to Bridlington on Twitter where they also announced another warm-up show at Swindon Oasis on May 26.

“Kasabian sold out last time they played here and we expect their return to have the same outcome,” said Andrew.

“The feedback we got last time was that it was one of the best gigs we have ever had at The Spa so we are very much excited for them returning.”

The mulit-award winning band are best known for theirhits such as Fire and Club Foot.

At NME Awards 2015, Kasabian were nominated for nine awards, beating the 2009 Oasis record (7 nominations).
