Hull’s Bee Lady will make a VIP visit to Sewerby Hall on Monday to see the floral display created in her honour.
Jean Bishop has raised thousands of pounds for charity by dressing in a distinctive black and yellow outfit at events in the region.
She will be welcomed by the chairman of the council, Cllr Margaret Chadwick and shwon around the displays which have been made by horicultural students from the Worklink scheme, to mark 100 years since some women first gained the right to vote in this country.
Successful women such as JK Rowling, Beatrix Potter, HM Queen Elizabeth, Amy Johnson and Mary Berry have all inspired designs in the gardens.
Marie Gascoigne, facility manager at Sewerby Hall, said: “We will be delighted to welcome Jean with a VIP visit to Sewerby Hall and Gardens, to honour her amazing fundraising work for Age UK, and to show her the display created for her by our Worklink students here.”
Worklink Sewerby is used by over 30 students, aged 18 and over, who are developing skills in horticulture, with a view to gaining employment in the profession.
