It's a home match...

BRIDLINGTON professional footballer Richard Cresswell, now playing with Preston North End in division one of the Nationwide League, and Zoe Chapman, also of Bridlington, were married at Christ Church.

Joint best man along with the bride's brother Mark Chapman was his former England Under-21 colleague Jon Greening, once of Manchester United and now with Premier-ship Club Midd-lesbrough. As teenagers, Richard and Jon played together for the East Yorkshire Junior League side and teamed up together again with York City.

Richard moved on to Sheffield Wednesday and then to Leicester City before signing for Preston.

Zoe is the only daughter of Mich-ael and Cherry Chapman, of the Ransdale Hotel, Bridlington, and Richard is the only son of George and Denise Cresswell, of Limekiln Lane, Bridlington.

Given away by her father, the bride wore a duchess satin strapless silver beaded top with an overlap bodice, and an A-line skirt with back pleats and self-covered buttons. Her veil was held in place by a pearl and diamante tiara. She carried a bouquet of pink roses.

Chief bridesmaid Kylie Scotter (bride's friend), and bridesmaids Cassie Clarkson-Hall (bride's friend), Samantha Cresswell (groom's sister), Carol Bucknell (best man's girlfriend), Vicky Vasey (bride's brother's girlfriend), Chelsey Davidson and Saskya Bush (bride's cousins) and Courtney Sawyers (groom's niece), wore dusky pink taffeta dresses and silver and pink tiaras. They carried posies of pink and white roses. Thanks have been expressed to Ann Vasey, who made the older bridesmaids dresses, and Marj-orie, who made the younger brid-esmaids dresses.

Page boy was Master Benjamin Davidson (bride's cousin) and groom-smen were Kieran Lawry, Jody Chap-man (bride's bro-ther), Darren Saw-yers (groom's bro-ther-in-law), Andrew Thomp-son, Alan Johns-ton and Darren Pudsey.

The bridegroom, best men, groomsmen and pageboy all wore Prince Edward suits and silk ivory waistcoats. The bridegroom and the couple's son Charlie wore white satin ties and the best men, groomsmen and pageboy wore pink ties.

The wedding took place on Saturday, June 7 and, following the ceremony, conducted by the Rev Jonathan Couper, a reception was held at the Manor Court, Carnaby.

Zoe and Richard knew each other as children.

After returning from their honeymoon in Monte Carlo, the couple are to live in Preston.
