Isabel Richardson is on a mission – to make a welcome sign more welcoming.
The 20-year-old, who has autism, felt that the entrance to Sewerby village needed a splash of colour.
Isabel, who does voluntary work with children, has planted flowers at the sign near her home and will be tending to them every week.
She said: “I wanted to help Sewerby as I love the village and I have been brought up up there all my life.
“I’ve also had a passion for helping others and I hope when people see the sign, it makes people smile and all the colours makes them want to come to Sewerby more.
“Thank you so much to Petals Florists for the donations and I will be carrying on all year round.”
Her friend Kylie Atkinson said: “Isabel will go out of her way to help anyone, she really just wants to make a difference.”
