Bridlington's war memorial has been given a splash of colour overnight

The town council has donated 200 large poppies, as part of the Free Press' Turn The Town Red campaign.
Last night, councillors were joined by cadets from the 252 Squadron of the Air Training Corps.

They attached dozens of the poppies to the railings around the gardens in Prospect Street and to benches next to the war memorial - creating an amazing spectacle.

More than 2,000 poppies have now been sold in Bridlington, raising more than £7,000 for the Royal British Legion.
