The East Riding is braced for its first cold snap of 2016 as severe winds and ice is expected over the next few days.
The Met Office has released a yellow weather warning as temperatures drop and wintry gales hit East Yorkshire today and tomorrow.
It says: "A period of northerly gales, and locally severe gales along the coast, will develop over eastern parts of Yorkshire by midday.
"Gusts of 50-60 mph are possible inland and locally 70 mph along the coast."
Warnings of ice on the roads has also been released, it reads: "Ice is likely to form on untreated surfaces on Thursday evening and night. Please be aware of the likelihood of some difficult driving conditions, especially on minor roads, and some slippery surfaces."
Temperatures are not expected to rise higher then 3C on Friday and overnight tonight they could fall as low as -2C.
The cold weather will carry on into the weekend with snow and freezing temperatures expected into the weekend.
