The amount raised through the Free Press’ Turn The Town Red campaign keeps going up and up.
A count-up earlier today showed that the appeal, which has seen hundreds of large poppies bought and put on display around town, has raised £7,000 for the Royal British Legion.
Bridlington branch secretary Geroge Collins said: “I’m so proud of this town.
“A massive thank you to everybody who has bought a large poppy for their home, business or any other form of display.
“I have counted all the tins from locations where they were being sold and I am just waiting on a total from one remaining individual but our current total now stands at a huge £6,950.63.
“All being well, after tonight, we shall have passed the £7,000 mark.”
