Staff from a Bridlington business will be heading to the beach next week – but they certainly won’t be relaxing.
The team from Lloyd Dowson are taking part in a Charity Beach Challenge on Wednesday, raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society and the Teenage Cancer Trust.
It will involve activities which will test strength and endurance, including creating a sandcastle by moving a tonne of sand, which have been set by Steve Tighe from Blast Fitness.
He has been working with the accounting business staff to get them fitter in recent months.
Vanessa Rowbottom, marketing director for Lloyd Dowson, said: “The team are ready for the challenge as we have worked hard in our weekly sessions with Steve to improve our fitness levels.
“We are looking forward to helping raise funds for two charities which do such great work and from which local people will benefit.”
Margaret McHugh, Alzheimer’s Society services manager for Hull and East Riding, said: “We are grateful to local fundraisers like Lloyd Dowson whose donations enable us to run our Side by Side service.
“This pioneering service allows people living with dementia to engage with their communities and to continue doing the things they love with the support of a volunteer.”
The Lloyd Dowson fitness club celebrated its first anniversary in January with a challenge to support Hull and East Yorkshire Mind.
