A man used his head as a weapon when he headbutted another man outside a Bridlington pub, East Riding Magistrates’ Court heard.
James Lawton, 21, of New Burlington Road, Bridlington, was told he could go to prison for the attack which happened on October 26 last year.
Adjourning the case for the preparation of pre-sentence reports, district judge Frederick Rutherford said: “The nature of the attack is such that there must have been a fear of very serious injury. Another aggravating feature is the headbutt which is tantamount to using a weapon.”
Defending Mike Farr said that “drink had played a part.”
Lawton, who pleaded guilty to assault by beating, will be sentenced on February 4.
