Group leaps to charity success

Talented youngsters raised £1,000 for three local lifeboat stations at a spectacular show this summer.

Members of the Local Entertainers and Performers Society (LEAPS) put on the show at the Spa in August.

The society presented a cheque to the RNLI during a show night at Makis in Bridlington last month.

Jane Heaton, Flamborough Lifeboat Press Officer said: “Both the evening at the Spa and the presentation evening at Makis were magnificent and the talent displayed was second to none.

“On behalf of all the volunteer crews at Bridlington, Flamborough and Humber, our thanks go to all the amazing acts.”

With the theme ‘Then and Now’ the summer show featured tributes to artists from Lady Ga GA to Johnny Cash.

The society, based in Hull, was formed specifically to raise funds for local charities and whilst doing so, showcase the talent of the youngsters.

Bridlington, Flamborough and Humber RNLI stations will all receive a share of the generous donation.
