A MAN was conned out of his gold necklace in a street robbery in Bridlington.

Police are appealing for information following the incident on Saturday June 30, when a man who was walking down Marshall Avenue, at around 7pm, was approached by a woman who offered to sell him a gold chain.

The woman was carrying several chains, which she placed around the man’s neck.

After declining to purchase a chain, the woman then removed them from the man’s neck and at the same time removed the man’s own 9 carat gold link neck chain, replacing it one of the chains she was attempting to sell.

It was only afterwards that the man realised his chain had been swapped for an imitation gold chain by the woman.

She is described as being of Asian appearance, about 5ft 4ins in height and of and slim build with shoulder length black hair. The woman also had several distinctive gold coloured teeth.

Anyone with any information in connection with the incident is asked to contact Humberside Police on the non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference number 1915686, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
