MEET the Ossie Girls - and they are ready for action.
The three 10-year-old friends are enjoying their first attempt at taking part in the Humberside Police Lifestyle Challenge for youngsters who want to make a difference in their community.
But Cerys Jones, Alicia Crosthwaite and Alice Parker, who all go to Flamborough School, and live in the village, wanted to do something different to make a difference.
The trio have already been on top of the church tower of St Oswald’s in Flamborough to repaint the flag pole.
They also helped set up the church’s flower festival helping pull lengths of wood up the tower to make a frame for a display of signal flags. And they were busy at the recent flower festival helping out on a stall and maintaining displays at the church.
Their adult team supervisor, Alicia’s father, Gareth, said: “The girls wanted to be as adventurous as they could in the jobs they do and are now looking forward to their next assignments which hopefully could include being lowered down the church tower to wash the clock face.” Also in the pipeline are plans to renovate some of the church benches.
