Bridlington School pupils help with the shoebox appeal

An annual campaign to send gift-laden shoeboxes to Romania for the festive season has proven a huge success again this year, thanks to kind-hearted Bridlington and East Riding residents.

As part of the shoebox appeal at Christ Church, residents and students from Bridlington School helped to prepare 350 packages filled with gifts to arrive in time for Christmas.

Sue Graily, co-ordinator of the Christ Church appeal for the link to Hope charity, said: “I would like to thank the following groups for their support with the appeal this year: Bridlington School, Bridlington Town Hall staff, Sewerby Methodist Church, Warter Primary School and Weaverthorpe Primary School.

Hundreds of Romanian families will have great joy in receiving these shoeboxes, thanks to the generosity of all the people in this area who filled them.”
