After being kept off Bridlington’s beaches for five months, pooches who love a paddle celebrated Doggie Freedom Day on Monday!

Between the start of May and the end of September, dogs are not allowed on the beach between Limekiln Lane and Kingston Road.

But each year, owners meet up on October 1 to take their pets for a stroll on the sands on the first day that restrictions ate lifted.
The group met at Richie’s Cafe Bar on Monday morning and enjoyed a cup of tea and sausage sandwiches, and there was music by Give And Take.

Organiser Anthea Joels said: “It was the biggest success yet.

“We raised £120 for the Make A Wish children’s charity .

“Smurphy and Bilbo loved sharing sausages with all their doggie mates. Even the sun came out for us. Thanks to everyone for coming.”
