Former Emmerdale star injured in Hunmanby crash

Actress Roxanne Pallett has been airlifted to hospital after a high-speed crash in Hunmanby, according to reports.

The actress, 36, blacked out for 30 seconds following the horror collision yesterday at the Hunmanby racetrack, near Scarborough, according to reports in The Sun.

Firefighters took two hours to cut her from the wreckage, before she was airlifted to Hull Royal Infirmary.

Roxanne, who now works on the Minster FM breakfast show, is believed to have been racing her co-host Ben Fry.

A statement from Minster FM says: "As you may have heard, unfortunately Roxy was involved in an accident yesterday.

"Minster FM colleagues and listeners wish her a speedy recovery and can’t wait to have her back in the studio and waking up North Yorkshire with Ben.

"Thank you for all of your messages wishing her well. Roxy and the team at Minster FM all appreciate your support."

Emergency services were called to the race track at 12.30pm yesterday (July 18).

She is not believed to have suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital by air ambulance.
