Flamborough RNLI lifeboat B820 Elizabeth Jane Palmer has returned to Flamborough following repairs.

B820 has been at the RNLI inshore lifeboat workshops in Cowes since mid April where urgent repair work has been carried out.

Since then, Flamborough RNLI has been served by relief lifeboat B883 Roy Snewin, which has been launched on service on 20 occasions.

Volunteer crew members welcomed back B820 Elizabeth Jane Palmer and ensured that a smooth changeover of lifeboats took place this evening at South Landing, Flamborough.

Flamborough RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager, Dave Freemen, said: The relief boat has served us well with 20 service launches over the Summer, however everyone is pleased to have our own lifeboat back on station."

Flamborough RNLI lifeboat B820 Elizabeth Jane Palmer will feature on an episode of 'Saving Lives at Sea' which is scheduled for broadcast on BBC2 at 8pm on September 11.
