Amazing views of the Flamborough coastline are boosting sales of Saint Catherine’s new calendar.
Thousands of the 2016 Saint Catherine’s calendars are going on sale now in outlets all over the huge area covered by the hospice.
Orders are already pouring in from as far afield as Australia and Canada as people snap up their copy.
Around 600 photographs were submitted and 12 chosen to feature in the calendar which is set to be a big fundraiser for the hospice, currently celebrating 30 years of care.
Among the photographs are two views of Flamborough. They are Rod Newton’s landscape of Flamborough cliffs and lighthouse, and Alan Sanders’ picture of the beach at North Landing.
Hospice fundraiser Richard Barwick thanked everyone who had sent in photographs.
“There are some stunning pictures in our new calendar and we hope it will once again raise lots of money for patient care,” he said.
The calendars are on sale at outlets all over the 1,600 square miles where Saint Catherine’s provides services, from Whitby to Bridlington and inland to Driffield and Ryedale.
Each year the hospice cares for more than 2,000 people from that area, the largest geographical area of any hospice in Britain other than the highlands of Scotland.
Among the many places selling the calendar, which also feature recipes submitted by hospice supporters, are all 11 hospice shops including the shop in Cross Street, Bridlington.
The calendars can also be bought from the hospice in Scarborough or its online shop at www.stcatherineshospice-nyorks.org.
