The Katie Walker Cancer Trust will be holding another special fund-raiser at the Friendly Forester pub this weekend.
A sponsored fire walk for the charity takes place on Saturday, from 7pm, after the event was cancelled in March due to bad weather.
Money raised goes towards funding international research meetings and helping families in the Yorkshire area with teenagers going through treatment for cancer. The trust was set up in memory of Bridlington woman Katie Walker, who died of cancer aged 20 in 2007, and is run by her parents Julie and Mick Walker. The Friendly Forester has held a series of events for the charity, and has raised close to £10,000 so far. Places are still available for the walk, and sponsor forms are available from the pub.
