A fundraising event is to take place in order to help with the expenses for Damion Vernon’s family in their search to find him.

The 32-year-old has not been seen since 8 December 2014 when he drove to Wakefield after telling his family he was going to pick up a car.

Damion has been missing for more than eight weeks now and the family have organised a fundraising event to coincide with an online fundraising page.

The event will take place at Kidz Fun Factory on Bessingby Industrial Estate between 4pm and 6.30pm where money will be raised through a tombola, raffle, cake stalls and more.

The money will go towards the money spent by the family in trying to find Damion with fuel costs and poster printing particularly important.

Owner of the Kidz Fun Factory, Tina Summers, said: “We have all seen the state that the family are in at this time. It has not been a good time for them at all, especially over the Christmas period.

“It is really important that members of the public get behind this event and help the family to bring Damion back home, where he belongs.”

The play area will be open at £2.75 for children, £1 adults and 50p babies. Tea and coffee will also be available.

If you want to donate prizes for the raffle or tombola, you can call Tina on 07895438561.

Alternatively, you can donate via the online fundraising page at www.gofundme.com/j0pgp8.

Anyone with any information in relation to Damion should contact Humberside Police on 101 quoting log number 438 of December 9.
