'Even bigger than Oasis gig' - the verdict on Bridlington's All Star Party
Radio Two's All Star Party was '˜the biggest event' at Bridlington Spa since it reopened more than a decade ago.
General manager Andrew Aldis said Saturday’s ‘incredible’ show, which was broadcast live to millions of listeners for more than six hours, had put Bridlington on the map.

“It was fantastic,” Andrew said. “I think it was the biggest event we’ve ever had.
“People might say Oasis but that was just a gig. Maybe they were a bigger name but this was a bigger event.
“The BBC arrived on Thursday to start setting up and we were all still here at 5am.
“The show was amazing. It was just outstanding. It kept changing and there was so much going on.”
In the lead-up to the party, Bridlington was mentioned every day on Radio Two.
Andrew said the opportunity to host the event came as a result of The XX’s visit to The Spa more than six years ago.
One of the BBC team who worked on that production was involved with the All Star Party and suggested Bridlington as the perfect venue.
“There was no way we could say no to this,” added Andrew.
