A neglected and overgrown school pond has been transformed thanks to the generosity of supermarket shoppers and a number of Bridlington businesses.

Burlington Juniors received money from the Tesco Bags For Help scheme and donations from West Building Supplies, MKM and B&Q to install a den area, plants, flowers and seating, to help identify key mini beasts and wildlife.

Teacher Kerry Christlow said: “We will be able to use the area to deliver exciting lessons across the curriculum and the children now have a transformed space which will give them lots of enjoyment and learning opportunities.”
