NEW students at East Riding College were welcomed to their course with a day of fun and interesting activities.
The Freshers’ Fairs at the Bridlington campus included street dance, sumo wrestling and birds of prey as well as information from health workers on subjects such as smoking, healthy eating and drugs.
Organisations such as Guide Dogs for the Blind and the Yorkshire Ambulance attended to encourage students to volunteer while universities and armed services were on hand to give advice on careers.
Enrichment co-ordinator Tracy Underwood said: “The Freshers’ Fairs are a chance for new students to have a bit of fun and get some useful information during their busy first week with us and before their course starts in earnest.
“The feedback we’ve received is that everyone really enjoyed the activities, especially the birds of prey, which are always very popular.”
