GCSE maths results at East Riding College are among the best in the country.
It is in the top 10% of further education colleges nationally and achieved the best score in the region for students receiving A* to C grades. English grades were also above average.
Assistant principal Helen Wooldridge said: “We’re always very proud of our students’ achievements and these results in particular reflect all the hard work both students and staff put in to their GCSEs, which they study alongside their main subjects at college.
“GCSE grades at A* to C, or their new equivalent grades 9-4 are important for the world of work, and to allow progression on to apprenticeships and higher levels of study, including degrees.
“By achieving their higher grade GCSEs with us our students are improving their employability and progression opportunities.”
Among the college’s star performers was student of the Year for English Alex Barraclough, who joined its fast-track scheme in September and passed his GCSE English in January, achieving distinctions in speaking and listening.
