ANOTHER seven mature cannabis plants have been discovered by police at a house in Bridlington.

Last Friday, at around 1.50pm, a misuse of drugs warrant was executed at an address on Rudding Drive after police received information that cannabis was being produced.

Upon arrival, police discovered a cannabis factory in the roof space of the property, which was rented from East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

The set-up consisted of heat lamps, fans, heaters and insulated sheeting.

Seven mature plants were located and seized within the growing area.

A 25-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested at the address and bailed until February pending further enquiries.

Two children were also at the address and were looked after by relatives whilst police conducted the search.

PC Mark Skelton, of the Bridlington Neighbourhood Police Team, said: “Police will be liaising with the Housing Department of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council who will be considering the tenancy of the occupants in question as a result of the warrant.

“The housing department will vigorously support the police in the crackdown on drug production and cultivation in Bridlington and consider the tenancies of anyone in a council premise found to be involved with drug use, supply and production.”
