Bridlington Lions Club celebrated their 52nd year serving Bridlington and the Worldwide Community.
At the Anniversary Dinner and Dance held at the Bridlington Links Golf Club, past district governor and Lion Peter Jay said grace before everyone enjoyed a beautiful four-course meal.
Lion president Gordon Boyes then started the toasts with a toast to the Queen.
This was followed by the Bridlington Round Table’s president Martin Helbrow and his vice president, David Ball, toasting Lions Clubs International and also mentioning some of the projects their club is involved with.
A response was given by Nigel Ware, district governor for District 105C – a speech full of humour and helpful advice.
Finally the ladies and guests were toasted and a very informative speech mentioning some of the years commitment was given by Gordon Boyes. This was followed by a very sincere but amusing response given by the Rev John Hughes from St John’s Burlington Church.
After bouquets were presented, it was time for the dancing and music by Total Recall.
