SJB Assist, an organisation of Our Lady and St Peter’s RC Church, has presented a cheque for £100 to the Bridlington Diabetics Support Group.

The support group will use the funds to consolidate the progress made over the past 10 months.

It’s steadily rising membership will now able to meet in a more suitable venue on the first Thursday of each month at the Community Resource Centre on Victoria Road.

Meetings begin at 6.45pm for an hour and usually feature a specialist speaker such as a dietitian or nurse.

SJB chairman Mike Carvill said: “We are happy to support this local initiative as it benefitted the wider community of Bridlington, where diabetes is a particular cause of concern, given our aging population.”
