Staff and customers at the Ship Inn at Sewerby have raised around £1,500 to buy a life-saving defibrillator for the village.

Charlie and Louise Kilburn who run the pub said: “It will be an asset for the village and community. Hopefully we will never have to use it though.

“We would like to thank the following people for their generous donations – Paul Hoggart at East Coast Fencing, MW Roofing, Richard Booth Wealth Management, Sewerby Residents Association, the Prescott family, the Clarke family and the Ship Inn customers.”
